why hello, catherine deneuve

there were few heroic time-changing female movie stars back in the dizzay, but among the few starlets were audrey hepburn, marilyn monroe, grace kelly and another not so obviously stunner? catherine deneuve.

her style, her poise, her transgression on the big screen.... catherine had it all. born in october of 1943 (sounds ancient, i know) deneuve was a prominent french actress. her signature role was playing sort of mystical beauties who ... didn't have a lot going on "up stairs". she even had the amazing opportunity of working with famed director roman polanski.

although she never won any oscars, she was nominated for numerous academy award nominations and won the french version (the César Awards) many times. in 2008 catherine put out her 100th film titled: Un conte de Noël.

deneuve was born catherine fabienne dorléac in paris, as the third of four daughters to french stage and screen actor maurice dorléac and actress renée deneuve. so, it wasn't so much her finding the craft of acting as.... acting found her. whatever the exact scenario was-- its regardless. all that really matters is the fact that catherine deneuve rocked the big screen and certainly made a staple for herself in terms of old hollywood. we love you catherine!

where may have you seen the lovely catherine before???

well... she was YSL's original muse, the face of chanel no. 5 back in 1970, in 2001 became the face of L'Oreal Paris, in 2006 became an influence for M.A.C's "icon series", in 2007 became the face of Louis Vuitton luggage, and oh yeah what about movies? hello... getting off track here:
