one for jasmina

ever since i read about this little girl back in february

she has weighed heavy on my heart!

6 year old jasmina anema was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive

form of leukemia at the exact time that president barack obama was being

sworn into presidency back on january 20th.

visiting the doctor for a simple infected cut on her toe

doctors quickly realized something was extremely wrong

and little jasmina has been at the cancer center in nyc ever since.

she is in desperate need for a bone-marrow transplant

and so far thousands of donors have signed up in the fight to help jasmina, 

but so far there has been no such luck :(

 normally, a best match would be a sibling or parent

but unfortunately jasmina is adopted so that is not an option.

african americans only make up 8% of bone marrow donors, 

which also makes her chance for survival less likely.

celebrities such as rihanna, paul pierce, lil mama, and kelly rowland have helped

make awarness and even donated swabs of their DNA to see if

they were potential matches!

kelly rowland visited the young girl at the hospital on her birthday

and even serenaded her with "happy birthday" :)

little jasmina has since lost her hair

and is still in desperate need of a transplant.

the doctors have given her just 2 more months to live
