but for new designer jason wu it was actually a career move.
born in taiwan, wu eventually moved to manhattan where
he got his start at crafting couture creations for toy dolls.
in 2006 he decided to give it a try on humans
and just three years later he is putting on some of the most
eye-catching shows at new york fashion week.
he has since won the 2009
Fashion Group International's Rising Star Award,
for his signature hourglass dresses
that combine classy oldschool Hollywood glamour
with a dash of youth.
